Dorset Girls' School Welcomes Record Number Of Students In September

Sherborne Girls to welcome record number of students in September

Continuing the national trend highlighted in the ISC Annual Census 2012 that boarding school numbers have remained resilient through the economic downturn, Sherborne Girls in Dorset is expecting more than 100 girls to join in September and can report that registrations are also up for future years.

Addressing parents, staff and governors at the end-of-term Commemorative Speech last week, Headmistress Jenny Dwyer spoke of how the School is going from strength to strength, as evidenced by investment in a number of academic facilities, including new classrooms, ICT facilities and a £2.5 million science centre – modern, attractive teaching spaces with cutting-edge technology.

“September will also see the completion of a new geography, economics and business suite, with a new junior house scheduled for Easter,” added Jenny Dwyer. “In addition, work continues on the development of a drama and music space, and a new Sixth Form and Higher Education Centre to bring careers and future guidance to the centre of the School. It is an exciting time for Sherborne Girls, and a period of growth and continued optimism in the future.”
