Leading manufacturer Electrolux Professional is holding a Kitchen Management Workshop on 23rd June 2015 – geared towards helping those in the education sector streamline daily processes and improve kitchen output.

In line with the event’s theme of ‘a day in the life of an education kitchen’, Electrolux Professional will open up its Center of Excellence in Luton to demonstrate how the consideration of both machinery and the lifecycle of food can aid efficiency. The event will also see Carrieanne Bishop, current chair of the Local Authorities Caters Association (LACA), deliver a keynote on the challenges facing the education sector.

A series of hands-on workshops and best practice demonstrations will explore various process options in food service, such as the preparation of food against buying pre-packaged, and compare equipment in terms of performance, reliability and maintaining food safety standards.

Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with Electrolux Professional’s globally-leading product range. At all modular cooking solutions are manufactured to fit together as a suite, which offers economies of scale at the point of installation and bespoke kitchen solutions can be created for the care sector based around their capacity, ongoing budget, including energy usage and menu ambitions.

Darren Lockley, Head of Region for UK & Ireland at Electrolux Professional commented: “With the demands placed on kitchens in the education sector consistently high, especially for public sector primary schools adapting to cope with the introduction of UIFSM, we decided to dedicate a day at our Center of Excellence to help schools and school caterers make their operations as streamlined and efficient as possible.

“Workspace is often at a premium, so we hope to encourage those considering the needs of their kitchen to also think about the importance of building bespoke and sustainable solutions which are perfectly suited to their environment. The day will also provide opportunities for networking and the sharing of ideas, as well as the discussion of concerns faced within the industry and how some of these challenges can be overcome.

“Through bringing Electrolux solutions to life, we’re aiming to cover every important aspect of catering in the education setting, and help schools and their staff as they make preparations for the next academic year.”
