Hundreds Of Schools Enter Eco-Garden Competition
Children have a month left to enter a competition that could win them a £10,000 eco garden.
Already more than 250 schools across the country have registered for the ‘Little Litterbug’ competition, being run by online schools supplier Viking for Schools.
The Little Litterbug competition is open to children 11 years of age and under in the UK, and is running in partnership with the Support Your School recycling scheme. The budding artists can participate by drawing, colouring or painting a Little Litterbug: a creature or a machine that can recycle their classroom’s waste and turn it back into something useful for their school.

The competition encourages pupils to think about the environment and the impact their rubbish has on the eco-system. An initial shortlist will be announced in summer 2012 and the winning entrant will be chosen by a representative of the Support Your School scheme.
Jackie Buckwell, Environment Manager at Office Depot, said: “There has been an amazing response from schools that have entered and we are very impressed by the level of creativity children have applied to recycling. We are eager to see what future entries have in store for the ‘Little Litterbug’ competition and excited to see their ideas for improving the environment.”
