KI, a leading manufacturer and provider of well designed and durable furniture, to the business and educational sectors, have launched exciting new ranges of bench, desk, lecture hall, task and visitor seating by eminent designers such as: David Chipperfield, Giancarlo Piretti, Paul Brooks, Emilio Nanni, Dante Bonuccelli and Lucci e Orlandini. KI’s new products will be on display at KI’s central London Showroom in High Holborn.

KIare perhaps best known for the broadest integrated portfolio of durable steel storage products in the world ranging from personal and lateral system storage to sliding, rotary and high density mobile storage solutions.

At NeoCon in Chicago this year, KI received the award ‘2011 Neocon Showroom and Booth Design’ for their showroom as well as the ‘Best of Neocon Gold’ award for an innovative new educational product. KI also received the I.I.D.A Presidential Award for its ‘new workstation system’ at the Middle East Office Awards.

In the London showroom there will be many exciting new products on display for auditorium, lecture hall, and theatres as well as a new bench and desk system to compliment KI’s extensive ranges of personal and lateral storage. Also launched will be a new task and occasional seating range and several other exciting new seating and table ranges from leading designers.

Genya, designed by Dante Bonuccelli, is a new addition to the auditorium & conference seating range. It is of minimalist design with an innovative technological solution. When closed, the seat has the appearance of a compact wall. A monolith has been inserted in the flooring surface in which all workings of the seating has been cleverly concealed away.

The seat and arm rests open automatically in a synchronised foldaway motion which is enabled through two cushioned gas rods. The seat features a fold out writing table on the backrest of the chair with an anti panic movement and is also available with a colour monitor fitted into the backrest.

E4000, designed by Lucci e Orlandini,is a new system of seats and tables for university lecture theatres. The Integrated and continuous seating and table system means that they are suitable for arranging in a straight line or curved rows, on large steps or on inclined floors. The seating system features a tip up foldaway writing table or has the option of a fixed writing table with row or seat numbering. E4000’s components are simple ensuring that it is practical, hardwearing and long lasting adapting to all teaching applications and offering technologic and multimedia functionality.

C100 designed by Baldanzi & Novelli, is a new seating solution for conference halls, auditorium, cinemas and theatres, qualified by a series of functional accessories that enable each installation to be customised with specific features. C100 is characterised by its clean cut design with a high level of ergonomic comfort. The backrest is adjustable to two different heights and can be installed at three different angles to facilitate a perfect view. The tip up seat has a comfortable, welcoming shape; the frame features elements that are extremely strong and yet light in appearance. Modulamm, designed by Lucci e Orlandini, is stylish contemporary designed beamed seating range suitable for conference rooms, teaching classrooms, multi-functional and waiting areas. The seat provides maximum levels of safety and comfort. Modulamm offers a variety of solutions, great strength and long duration with maximum safety & great comfort. Itis available with or without arm rests. The beam version is available with both fixed and tip up seats with or without arms,has the option of anti panic foldaway writing tables and can also be installed in straight rows or curved rows on flat steps or on inclined flooring. Modulamm is available in a range of material finishes & colours.

KI 800 Series bench and desk system, constructed by using a simple modular under structure that is as light and easy to assemble as it is stable. With a choice of two leg frames; a simple fixed height ‘goalpost’ style and a two part height adjustable ‘hoop’ style. Both styles of leg frame are interchangeable and can accommodate fixed or sliding tops. Combined with a partly suspended large cable tray allowing easy access for power and data cables during installation, the integrated desk screens are available with various tool rails, fabric and Perspex panel options and match KI 800 Series optimal personal and lateral storage systems.

Faveo, designed by Paul Brooks, is a new task and occasional seating range which has received a Red Dot Design Award. The Faveo task chair is both inviting and attractive. A mesh back provides optimum and ergonomic comfort, due to the point synchromatic integrated mechanism which provides a wide range of reclining options with free flow and 4 position locking. Instant ergonomic adjustment is delivered to the user by simple easy touch controls with seat height and tension adjustment integrated on one side and the forward tilt and recline lock on the other.

The seating range comes with options of transparent and sculptured mesh back rests in a choice of colours. The Faveo range is a complete family of seating suitable for multipurpose applications including task/operational, café, meeting, conference, training and auditorium. PIANA, Alessichair, a simple yet iconic folding chair designed by DavidChipperfield. This effortless folding chair is made from polypropylene and fibreglass. The three parts of the chair rotate around a single axis and the finely engineered supporting structure and mechanism are concealed within the moulded components. The matt finish and tactile qualities of the polypropylene render the chair both comfortable and robust. It folds completely flat, is horizontally stackable and currently is available in six different colours. Mainly suitable for collective and public spaces, the chair is also suitable for private spaces.

Torsion Air designed by Giancarlo Piretti, this seating collection is a fresh interpretation of the classic Torsion range with a lighter visual impression, breathability and exceptional comfort. The seat is fabric upholstered over foam that is applied to a moulded polypropylene liner. The back is a frame of moulded glass-reinforced nylon with a captured mesh fabric. The patented Torsion flex mechanism provides extraordinary comfort by gradually increasing resistance over the full 12 degrees of back flex. Lucky, designed by Emilio Nanni, is a multipurpose chair family which is characterised by its light beautiful design and smart two-colour finish options. The soft flexible shape of the polypropylene shell follows the movements of the body. With anti-slip matt finish surface on the seat and a polished finish on the exterior of the shell. The Lucky chair collection offers a sophisticated and functional solution giving the chair a fresh image accentuated by a multitude of vibrant colour options.

HL3, designed by Lucci e Orlandini, is a versatile seating system available in various models: Chair on a four leg base with a fixed or tip up seat, chair on a swivel base and beam mounted seating. The version with a fixed seat is stackable, while the version with a tip up seat is also nestable. The range is available in a wide range of materials, finishes and colours and is completed with accessories allowing one to customise each system to meet one’s exact project requirements.

V100, designed by Giancarlo Piretti, is a multifunctional table with a flip up top available in many different types allowing a large range of potential composition solutions. The system also features an innovative synchronised movement mechanism that moves the top vertically as the legs are rotated in order to occupy less space when tables are stacked against the other.

BreakOut designed by So Vibrant is an innovative seating system. It is an adaptable solution designed to act as an intimate sanctuary for the open plan working environment and also combines the use of technology as the perfect meeting point. Multiple laptop users may connect to a single screen housed within the enclosure or use the network. The modular design of BreakOut allows multiple seating units to be connected in series, to create a product tailored to the number of people who need to use it.
