MR PRITT AND MISTER MAKER VISIT IRELAND TO HELP GET KIDS CRAFTING USING JUNK
Carrabane National School in Ireland was full of little artists in the making on Friday as pupils were treated to a visit from Mr Pritt and Mister Maker, which saw the stars host a fun, junk-themed arts and crafts session.
Carrabane National School is among three schools to win an exclusive crafting day at their school as part of an exciting new competition run by the top selling glue brand, Pritt. Evenlode Primary School in Penarth, Wales, was the first winner of this exciting prize.
Mister Pritt and Mister Maker hosted the activity session with Junior Infants, Senior Infants, 1St Class and 2nd Class who all produced imaginative pictures – made from junk items the children had lying around their homes, crafting materials and Pritt Sticks.
Carrabane National School Principal Sean Ó Raghallaigh commented: “We’re so excited to have won this prize, it was such a fun experience for the kids. Not only did the children get to meet and learn from one of their crafting heroes – Mister Maker, aided by his good friend Mr Pritt, but the day really helped them express their creativity, something we champion at Carrabane National School.”
Mister Maker, the CBeebies star who led the session, explained the importance of learning crafts from an early age: “It’s been great to bring these sessions to yet another school – I hope the children feel inspired to continue crafting at home. We know that the sense of achievement which mini-makers feel from creating their own artwork is really important.”
The pupils were photographed with Mr Pritt, and each child was also given a Pritt goody bag to take away meaning that they can continue their crafty skills at home.
Pritt Stick is the best-selling glue brand in the UK. Three times stronger than the second best-selling brand and made from 90% natural ingredients, Henkel-owned Pritt is working to engage children with arts and crafts across the UK. This competition has been seeded to all primary schools in the UK and Ireland which will have received an information leaflet to enter the competition to win an arts and crafts session with Mr Pritt and Mister Maker. Please note, the competition is now closed for this year.
Henkel Marketing Director Philippe Guegan commented: “Pritt is proud to support teachers and parents every day with the crafting activities they do with children, and we’re pleased that this second day has been such a pleasure for both staff and pupils. Crafting goes beyond just having fun - it is about developing creativity, self-confidence, artistic skills, and creating something of your very own.”
“At Pritt we will always offer children unique glues that combine unrivalled quality as well as 90% natural ingredients. I would also like to thank all parents and teachers for their loyalty to Pritt and their constant efforts to educate children though crafting activities.”
