MR PRITT AND MISTER MAKER VISIT LOCAL BATTERSEA SCHOOL TO HELP GET KIDS CRAFTING
The CBeebies Star and Pritt Stick mascot made a special appearance at Sacred Heart RC Primary School for a fun crafting session with pupils
Move over Constable and Turner – London has some brand new artists in the making!
Sacred Heart Roman Catholic School in Battersea was full of budding artists on Friday as pupils were treated to a visit from Mr Pritt and celebrity presenter Mister Maker, for a lively arts and crafts session to make funny Pompom Bugs.
The Battersea school is the final of only three schools to win an exclusive crafting day as part of an exciting competition run by the top selling glue brand, Pritt. Evenlode Primary School in Penarth, Wales, and Carrabane National School, Ireland, have been the two other winners of this exciting prize.
Mister Pritt and Mister Maker hosted the activity session with Year 1s and Year 2s who all produced colourful Pompom bugs using pipe cleaners, googly eyes…and of course, Pritt Sticks.
Sacred Heart Roman Catholic School Teacher Eva Rubio commented: “The children have had a wonderful day with Mr Pritt and Mister Maker – they have been looking forward to it very much ever since we heard we won. Hands-on crafting like this is really important for curious young minds, and today has provided our Year 1s and Year 2s with a brilliant opportunity to get creative with their crafting hero.”
CBeebies star Mister Maker added: “It’s important for all children to be able to express their creativity at a young age as it helps so much with their confidence which aids and supports them their whole lives. We hope the children enjoyed making these crazy bugs – they’re a favourite make of mine! The sense of achievement which mini-makers feel from creating their own artwork is really important, and it’s been great to see this at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic School today.”
The pupils were photographed with Mr Pritt and Mister Maker, and each child was also given a Pritt goody bag to take away meaning that they can continue their crafty skills at home.

Crafting goes beyond just having fun - it is about developing creativity, self-confidence, artistic skills, and creating something of your very own.”
