Marie De Bry! The Gifted Violist and The Wonder Music Teacher

Marie De Bry is known as a versatile freelance musician, playing solo, chamber music and in orchestras. She performed in various venues and festivals around Europe.

Her experiences as an orchestral musician has led her to perform with orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, the St.-Petersburg Ballet Theatre, the Oxford Philharmonic, the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique, the Belgian Chamber Orchestra and the Royal Flemish Philharmonic.

As a soloist and chamber musician, Marie has performed two recital concerts in the Wigmore Hall (London). Next to this, she is a member of the Chamber Music Box.  Marie was invited to take part in the Gustav Mahler Academy and the Santander Festival, where she played alongside Hansjörg Schellenberger. With the Ranelagh Chamber Orchestra, she performed the viola solo in Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante.

Marie is a prizewinner of several competitions. She was awarded the second prize at the North London Festival - Viola Competition, the third prize at the violin and viola competition of the Kenneth Page Foundation, the second place at the Theodore Holland Viola Prize and she received a scholarship from the Fondazione Paolo Grassi, awarded by Bruno Giuranna.

During master classes, she had the opportunity to work with renowned violists such as Lawrence Power, Wolfram Christ, Bruno Giuranna, Lars Anders Tomter, Hartmut Rohde, Garth Knox, Helen Callus, Yuko Inoue and Richard Crabtree.
