National Dementia Awareness Week News: Carebase Celebrates National Dementia Awareness Week With Local School Balloon Exchange
Carebase, a group of private care homes, which offers nursing, residential and dementia care, celebrated National Dementia Awareness Week last week with children from local schools.
To mark this special week, which is organized by the Alzheimer’s Society and aims to raise awareness of dementia and remember there is more to a person than the dementia, each of the Carebase care homes across the South of England and East Anglia arranged an afternoon of activities with pupils from neighbouring schools. Carebase has supported this campaign for the last three years to help raise awareness and money for this worthy cause.

With more and more people living with dementia every year, it is important that younger generations understand the condition better. It was also a great way for the Carebase care homes to bridge the gap and build a better relationship with the local schools and pupils.
Most of the homes also organized a party with drinks, cakes and entertainment to make a special occasion of the day. The children, residents, staff, friends and family members all had a great time celebrating National Dementia Awareness Week in such a fun and memorable way.
