Oarsome Oundle Rowers Win At Bedford

Coach Nev Aston commented, “Crews from as far as Putney, London and Shrewsbury School attended this event, all seeking to test the effectiveness of their winter training.

” The girls’ quad of Alanna Gilmartin (17), Alice Gadsby (16), Holly Kunzer (16) and Lily Wolfson (16) also raced in the WJ18 Quad Scull event, finishing in an credible 3rd place sandwiched between two Shrewsbury School crews.

The event was won by an impressive Bedford Modern School crew. Alanna and Lily also raced in the singles event. Alanna finished 3rd in WJ18 and Lily 13th in WJ17, in what was a very tough event with eighteen competitors, three of whom were faster than the winning WJ18 time. Master in Charge of Rowing,
