Playforce Offers PTAs Support With Dedicated Fundraising Week

With large charities witnessing a significant drop in donations(1) and high-street charity shops crying out for stock, it’s clear what impact the current economic climate is having on fundraising. Parent and Teacher Associations (PTA) throughout the country provide a vital service to schools in raising money for projects such as playgrounds, school trips and sports equipment. To offer advice and inspiration to PTAs in their fundraising endeavours, Playforce, a leading provider of outdoor play equipment, will be holding a Fundraising Week beginning on Monday 26 September.

During the Fundraising Week, through its website, Facebook and Twitter, Playforce will provide a variety of best practice examples, ideas and advice to help PTAs raise funds for their school projects.

“It’s never easy to raise money but when money is tight, as it is for many today, it’s even harder to ask for donations, particularly friends and family members,” said Dr Colin MacAdam, Managing Director of Playforce. “We install playgrounds up and down the country and many of them come about as the result of hardworking PTAs helping to fund the projects. By launching Fundraising Week we’re sharing some of the best practice examples, ideas, hints and tips that we’ve picked up along the way and we’re hoping that through both Facebook and Twitter others will share their experiences too. What is clear is that PTAs are having to become more and more creative in their fundraising activities and we hope our Fundraising Week will help them to become so.”

Playforce’s Fundraising Week will run from Monday 26 September to Friday 30 September 2011. For further information on the fundraising hints and tips visit www.playforce.co.uk, follow Playforce on Twitter or visit the Poddely Facebook page.
