Pupils From Laxton Junior School Concoct Smelly Cocktails At Stibbington

At the beginning of October the children in Reception at Laxton Junior School had a fabulous time exploring the environment using their senses with Peter Rabbit and his friends at Stibbington.

Activities included environmental music making, creating smelly cocktails, investigating camouflage colours with hidden caterpillars, making collage butterflies, tasting Mr McGregor’s harvest and building shelters.

A particular highlight enjoyed by the children was collecting and describing items to stick on to Miss Spider’s web which culminated in the creation of miniature autumnal pieces of art.

Reception teacher Miss Sandall said, ‘This was a wonderful opportunity to explore the great outdoors and the children have definitely extended their understanding of their five senses.'
