Sing A Song At Christmas
Local school children spread festive cheer at a Sanctuary Care home in Sheffield this week when they filled the home with the sound of Christmas carols.
Youngsters from Beck Primary School in Sheffield performed a special concert for the residents and staff at Park View Care Home in Sicey Avenue, Shiregreen on Monday (12th December), which was followed by a festive feast of mince pies.
The home’s deputy manager Donna Ashton said: “Our residents are very excited about Christmas and what better way to spread the festive cheer than with the wonderful sound of the youngsters performing carols around the tree.
“The children were absolutely fantastic and our residents had a lovely time. They really enjoyed meeting the children. The residents made the youngsters Christmas-themed goody bags to thank them for their performance and I think they enjoyed it as much as we did.”
On Thursday there will be an afternoon of festive fun with the home’s annual Christmas party. There will be traditional games and live entertainment, with music from singer Kevin Cramer.
Colleen Eccles, Project Director for Shiregreen said: “We are really proud of this beautifully designed care home, which has wonderful spaces in which to welcome guests and members of the community. It was great to see the children enjoying the glass-roofed courtyard after their performance and we hope to welcome them again soon”. |
